I thought it might be a good idea to eat healthy lunches since plum wine and cookies have been replacing my other meals...

Oden!

Eat ALL the fishcakes!
Oden is easy to make and very delicious (probably not very healthy). I'll eat some strawberries to make up for it.

Plum Wine!

Add caption
Found Japanese and Korean plum wine from the Asian grocery store! I love how the Japanese ones came individually packed and with plums in them.

Close up  of the individual cup.

Bento #21

This is a let's-get-back-to-size-2-pants-Bento, though I'm not sure how much it's going to help since I'm sitting here with a castella cake next to me - the wonders of having a car and able to get good cakes from Asian markets!

This Bento Includes:
Salad Cucumbers (not sure what makes them "salad")
Salsa with tomatoes, strawberries and mango chili sauce

Here's to good health and cake!

Strawberries!

No bento today, I didn't get to eat lunch at school due to an interview in downtown Atlanta (left 60 minutes to go to a place 15 minutes away and arrived only 5 min before my scheduled time slot)... on the brighter side,
Strawberries are on sale at Publix so I got 3 lbs of it... I tried to take a pretty picture of all the strawberries but couldn't stop eating them...there is no such thing as strawberry overdose is there?!

Here's a picture of my cat being cute on a yoga mat.

Bento #20

Today's Bento Includes:
Chinese Steamed Bread
Meatballs with Tofu and Ginger
Spinach

Mum made the bread and Father made the meatballs (I have a freezer full of them so be prepared to see those for the next couple weeks).

So, apparently my Lady was quite upset that I didn't take her along for spring break and terrorized her foster-parent quite extensively over the week. Her tantrums included pooping on the carpet, mauling the resident boy-kitty, and eviscerating anything that got in her field of vision. The Demon-Mode switched off once I came back and she was rubbing against everything and rolling on the carpet as usual...Sorry kitty, I really missed you too...

In NYC!

Whohoo! Brief was turned in on time! Now I'm in NYC enjoying a little city life, i.e. getting my personal space invaded and trying my best not to touch anything...on the brighter side...the food here is cheap and delicious!
Breakfast cake! From a Chinese bakery.

Donburi lunch from a Japanese restaraunt on 37th st.

Sugar canes for $3.49 /cane  at an Asian grocery store.

Bento #19

Today's Bento Includes:
Cherry Tomato & Broccoli Salad dusted with black pepper
Steamed eggs and (somewhat) heart-shapped piece of bread with cinnamon

I know when life gives you lemon, you are suppose to make lemonade (unless you are allergic to lemon, in which case you are probably suppose to scream a bit then die), but what happens when life sticks you with a $160 Zipcar bill for a trip that's no longer taking place? Guess I could scream a little but then my cats would think I'm crazy...

Dinner 03.06.12

Steamed Spinach and Chicken with Italian herbs lots and lots of oregano (because I only had enough energy to put things on a plate and heat it...)

I'm sorry for the boring (but much healthier?) meals I've been posting lately. I haven't had the motivation to make anything cheerful for the past couple days. The plans I was really looking forward to for spring break fell through and all the unpleasant things I need to take care of somehow managed to hang on. Caffeine's been keeping me up too late and giving me disturbing dreams too, it's getting a little hard to focus on anything...

Fortunately, I have great friends who are willing to listen to my whines and complains even though they are going through the same (suicidally) stressful phase too! I really don't know what I'd do without y'all (cry and get more cats I suppose...) Thank you and hang in there, Summer is coming!

Dinner 03.05.12

Stir-fried Chicken and Broccoli
Dinner at 5 pm...because I'll do anything to procrastinate on my brief...

Dinner 03.04.12

Steamed Eggs (and rice)
Steamed eggs is kind of a comfort food for me. It takes about 15 min to make and goes great with leftover rice. For those who did not grow up eat this, it has the consistency of silky tofu and is very nutritious. I left the heat on for a little bit too long so it looks kind of wrinkly (but generally an improvement from the ones I tried to make a couple weeks back). No harm done giving the heat a couple more minutes to kill bacteria...

Breakfast 03.04.12

If you went to college, you probably know how to make french toast. They are great for hangovers and are really hard to mess up, which is exactly why I made it this morning.

Also made sushi last night. I still don't have a mat, so everything's done by hand. I didn't bother the cut it, instead, the roll was eaten like a burrito.

Lunch 03.02.12

Today's Lunch Includes:
Dinosaur grilled (peperjack) cheese sammich
Stir fry veggies with ground turkey

I wanted to ask for a dinosaur grilled cheese at the found raiser event for the Latin American Association's Domestic Violence Program yesterday but got a little embarrassed (plus a line was forming behind me) and just got a regular square one instead...

Dinner 03.01.12

February/March is hard for everyone. So here's my attempt to cheer up both my law school and my Citizen Schools peeps:
STEAK Sushi!
That's right, the power of sushi and the awesomeness of steak combined into one simple meal! Complete with veggies, mayonnaise and mango chili sauce! This magical remedy is sure to cure your start of the year blues (and if steak sushi doesn't work, there is always vodka).

I know everyone's getting worn out around this time. The day seem to long and there is just less and less of a reason to get up in the morning. I've been having a hard time trudging through this period too. But, let's all just hang in there. Brave the bitter cold (if you are in Boston, humidity if you are in Atlanta) because you know things will only get better from here.

Alright, enough motivation speech, time to break out the vodka and property law book...
